Scavenger Hunt

My parcel arrived!!!!!!!!!!

Hello.

Before I tell you what it is, I need to tell you about my Terramundi Pot.
It was given to me by a lovely friend for my 40th Birthday.
A slot for putting money in, but nothing to get it out! When it was started I decided that I would spend the money on 'something for me' ~ something I wouldn't normally buy because I think it a bit extravagant.
I've been saving £2.00 coins in it ever since ~ well, to be perfectly honest Mr Clicky Needles puts quite a lot in too.
I've had a case of the Needies (more than the Wanties) for quite some time now.
We were discussing cost the other day and DD gave me a sideways look from her laptop.
"You haven't smashed the pot yet, have you Mum?"
Blimey! hadn't thought of that.
It wasn't full but as I said it was the Needies.
So the other day we held a ceremony.
....and all this gold came out.
There was about £600 in it. Apparently when they are full of £2 coins you can get over £1000!

So I ordered.
It came.
The UPS man grinned when he finally turned up at 4.00pm with it.
"I know what it is" he said.
"Just give it to me, I've been tracking you all day." I said, rugby tackling him as he came up the drive. "Where have you been?"
Have you guessed yet?

Yep, an ipad.
Oh my, oh my, oh my.
I think we'll be having burnt food, no washing done, no ironing...................
I am totally in love.
Of course the rest of the Clicky Needles gang like it too, DS playing Angry Birds.
So yes, the smart money was on a spinning wheel but the ipad came first!

We've got a family trip ~ joy ~ to the dentist tomorrow, so I'll see if I can find a replacement pot then. There was some money left over, so that can go back into the new pot for a flying start.
Oh, and I found a new Orla Kiely bag in Tesco, but it's paling into insignificance compared to other things.
I shall try to calm down now.
Have fun.
Bye.................................Clicky Needles.

  1. Well, I guess that the ipad is sharing the fun. A spinning wheel can come later!!! We always have a Terramundi on the go for holidays. It's amazing how much you can accumulate without noticing!

  3. Hubby's been making noises about getting an iPad. Think it's a case of the Wanties rather than the Needies with him though (but you know what boys and their toys are like!). Enjoy - and keep saving for The Wheel :D

  4. That is so exciting! I've never heard of a Terramundi pot before and I think it's a brilliant idea. Busting the whole thing open at the end sounds fun too :) Perhaps I should nab one....

  5. That's amazing, who would have thought how much you could save just by popping in your £2.00 coins, enjoy your iPad, and I'm sure it won't be too long before you have enough saved for your spinning wheel.

  6. Oh wow Cathy that's Fan-bloody-tastic!!!!!! I just let out an involuntary squeel on your behalf. Good for you. You need an ipad much more than a spinning wheel!! You can't surf patterns on Rav through your spinning wheel can you? Although if your DH fixed you up a dynamo you could power the ipad while spinning ;)

  7. I hardly ever seem to get £2 coins, I'd never fill the pot!! Fantastic saving up though. We got an ipad recently as well with the same green cover, they're brilliant aren't they? I love Goodreader as an app for viewing and making notes on PDFs, brilliant for knitting patterns

  8. Ooh, I'd love an ipad, but I think I'd better get one of those pots and start saving those £2 coin bad boys!...or take a knife to my daughter's piggy bank collection! ;-)

  9. Well done! I've never heard of a Terramundi before and yes £2 coins are quite difficult to come by, these days everything is done by card so not much change. You'll have to keep saving for that spinning wheel! dojo

  11. Oh my!
What a marvellous thing to have. I have an iPad and can safely say that the house is a tip, the kids are starving and I can't even remember what the mister looks like.
If he complains, I just remind him, that HE bought it for ME, so technically, it's HIS fault!
    Enjoy!!!!

  12. That is such a fantastic idea! I have seen loads of those pots but never got one. I have a collection of money boxes & used to save £2 but starting dipping into it for this and that.

Thanks for sharing & giving me the idea.

  15. That's exactly like my iPad, white frame is best as it doesn't reflect as much and I got the lime cover too! I love mine!! I'm back from camping and catching up on things...
