Wonderwool

Hello folks.

Well, me and Romain had the best time at Wonderwool.  We may have led each other astray a bit but I don't think either of us went too mad.  The sun came out, so we were able to sit outside to eat our lunch, but there was still a chill in the air.
It was very busy when we arrived, lots of like-minded people, squishing and squashing and nattering.  One of my favourite things are the rainbows of colour on the stalls.

There were also sheep.
These were very laid back, all snuggled up together.

Sadly this year, no alpacas.

There was a wall of poppies, knitted by community groups to commemorate 100 years of the ending of the First World War.
They were spectacular.  The curtain is to go on tour and then will stay at the Gower Heritage Centre.

So, of course, you want to know what I bought.  I fell in love with these mini-skeins from Wrigglefingers.  They are a 4ply Bluefaced Leicester, the colours really jumped out at me and I had to have them.
I love the slogan, 'better living through dyeing.'
More mini-skeins, this time from fivemoons to make a crochet flower scarf.

The two sets of mini-skeins together, make my heart go skippy, in fact I could have bought more, mini-skeins seemed to be everywhere.
I also bought some yorkshire tweed patchwork pieces
and a ball of Purl Alpaca Fine yarn to make some lovely mitts ~ I tried them on, it felt like putting my hands in clouds.
We had a lovely time and I had my usual nap on the coach on the way home, albeit a short one.  I'm desperate to wind the skeins and start the scarf, but I must finish other things first.

As always have a great week.............Clicky Needles.

  2. It was indeed a lovely day and I too bought the mini skeins kit for the crochet scarf! (Mrs C didn't REALLY make me!) I really was quite restrained as I could have bought lots. romain

  6. They were very popular this year. Me and Romain are saying that the shawl won’t be a race........but who knows?
