Woolfest oops No! Wonderwool.

Hello Folks!

I had a lovely time at Woolfest Wonderwool, with my lovely knitting pal Romain.
This year there was another hall open, with more Indie Dyers I think, and the crowds seemed to be better dispersed.

We were greeted by a magnificent dragon.
Wizards and Fairies.
 A wise owl.
And a mum reading a bedtime story to her little one.

We got down to some serious poking around.
A Rainbow at the Easyknits stand.
What it comes from ~ can't remember what these were, sorry!

Two alpacas from Toft.
A Cotswold Ewe and her lamb.
We stopped for a couple of coffees and lunch and talked knitting, fibre, shape (of garments!) and admired people's lovely hand knits as they passed us.

I accosted a poor lady to talk about a cardi she was wearing that I'm considering making, she was very nice and told me of the mods she would have made.

Five hours after we arrived we were back on the coach, with cold feet ~ concrete underfoot ~ brrrrrrr.  Nearly back to the car we got stuck behind a low loader with a Sherman Tank!
So, what did I buy?

Three more balls of Drops Delight for more stripy socks.
Two balls of Drops Fabel sock yarn, just because......
A set of Surina wood double pointed needles for the sleeves of my stripy cardi.  (Which I've now used and they are really nice.)
And a beautifully soft, wonderful smelling, hand made leather handbag.
Quite restrained I think.

We had a really great day.

See you soon...................Clicky Needles.

Socks

Hello there!

Our trip to France was good, we got lots of work done, have to look here to see the first instalment.

Master Clicky had a fun week with Gran and Grandad Clicky, they had him helping out around the house, mowing the lawn ~ with the petrol lawnmower obviously much better than a Flymo ~ and visiting local attractions.

I got lots of knitting done whilst travelling through France.
I made 2 more stripy socks for my collection.
I forgot how I was not making the joins show and as you can see from the blue one, they are noticeable.  This is not bothering me too much though, because after all they're only socks.
I've not actually worn any of the socks yet, as the winter we have had has been so mild, wooly socks have not been needed.  Instead I have been making wooly stacks of stripeyness.   There is something very pleasing to me about my socks.  You understand.
I'm having a knitty weekend, on Saturday I'm going to my knitting group and on Sunday I'm off to Wonderwool on a coach trip.  I can't believe it has been a year since the last one.

Happily, Miss Clicky, who took her driving test this week passed first time.  She is very pleased with herself and now looking for a car.

That's about me for now, I really should be working on the school website and not chatting to you, so I'll say goodbye.

See you soon.............Clicky Needles

Floor Finished

Hi there!

The hall floor is finished at last and is now a fetching concrete and sticky glue.  It'll stay like that for a bit before the tiler can come.
We're all packed up to go to France and leaving in the next hour or so.   I've blogged about the progress on La Petite Maison so far this year if you're interested, we've got lots of work to do this week.

Could I just point you in the direction of Crossing Countries for Cancer blog.  Two friends of Miss Clicky are cycling 4000 miles through Europe to the Black Sea and back to the South of France in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.  As I type they have gone 370 miles.  The blog might not be that up to date ~ they are blogging when they can find free WiFi ~ but their journey will be interesting, they camp on the side of roads and cook in village squares.  Pop over and have a look.

I've chosen some new colours for more stripey socks for car knitting.  I'm on the sleeves on my cardi and thought I would continue with it, but I need some dpns as the circular isn't really working, so socks it is.
Well, I must get in the car now, see you soon.

Holidays

Hello all!

Phew, the Easter holidays have arrived.  It has been manic at school the last few weeks.  I was having 'a stop the world I want to get off' time.

Me and Clicky are off the France next week so I'm trying to get lots of things done this week.  Miss Clicky is staying here and Master Clicky is off to my Mum and Dad.   I'm cooking stews, bolognese and anything that is reheat-able on hob ~ we're staying in a cabin on a local campsite ~ easy to cook after a hard day's work in the French house.

Back at home Mr Clicky and me are removing the vinyl tiles from our hall floor.  This is hard work.  We are both aching all over, knees, shoulders and backs are all sore.  It's a hard job, the glue needs softening with the heat gun before they'll come up.
I'm also trying to have a general tidy up/clean before we go.

Outside spring is bursting.
Our cherry tree is looking magnificent.

These are all in my Mum and Dad's garden.
I love the lime green of this euphorbia.
 Pulmonaria.
I'm not putting knitting too high on my list week, I'm not driving this time in France, so they're be lots of car knitting for me.

Mon Petit Gilet Raye is coming along really well,  I'm on the ribbing at the bottom.  I've made mine a bit longer than the pattern ~ still loving it.
Righto, I'm off now.

See you soon..........Clicky Needles.
