My Kitchen Window Sill

When I was out shopping the other day in the supermarket I looked through the reduced flower bucket.  I stopped for a moment and realised I my kitchen window sill has actually got flowers on already.  It is north facing and therefore fairly cool, pot plants do really well there.

Firstly, the amaryllis is fully out.  A lovely soft pink and white.
Next to that a very fragrant jasmine.  I bought one for Mum for Christmas and one for me too.  This is filling the kitchen with beautiful scent.
Next, a cyclamen  which was given to me 4 years ago.  I've managed to keep it alive and it flowers all through the winter.
Then we have Camile the 25p camelia that Miss Clicky got from work
and an orchid that was given to me by a neighbour for my birthday several years ago.
So really, I probably don't need to buy flowers.

One other thing to show you today, some lovely velvet ribbon from Tiger.  Just because......

See you soon ... Clicky Needles.

  1. I 'rescued' a sad-looking orchid yesterday evening when I left work (Tesco Express). One of the flowers had lost a few petals and the other flowers were looking past their best and it had been reduced right down from £8 to £1.20 and it would have been put in the bin if I hadn't bought it. I might give it to my parents (to go with the other two orchids I bought at a very reduced price) as Dad's the sort of person who only seems to have to look at a plant for it to grow! My amaryllis bloomed just before Christmas and finished last week (it grew two stems).

  8. Hi! Those are some beautiful flowers. My grandmother had an amaryllis. They are so easy to care for. I have a Christmas cactus near my kitchen window. It blooms pink and white flowers. Getting flowers are addicting, but they are beautiful and make the room feel cherry. Have a nice day!
