The Wedding

Hello All.

As my last post was about the wedding blanket, I thought you might like to see the wedding too.
No posts of people, just the lovely day we had.  It was held in a field just over the border from Gloucestershire, in Worcestershire.  There was a stunning marquee which had been decorated in magical way.

This was very much a handmade wedding, 150 meters of bunting had been sewn and the marquee was festooned along with lights.

Our godson and his dad had made a dresser from pallet wood, which held sweets and games to play.
They also made the bar, which had self serve beer, larger, wine and soft drinks.
Tea and coffee were also available.
The flowers on the table were arranged in wellies (we were told to bring our wellies just in case!)

This theme was carried on to the church.
As the venue was only half an hour's drive from home we set our tent up the day before, here it is complete with bunting and lights.
The church was a 10 minute walk from the field but (oh joy!) a bright shiny decorated John Deere was on hand to ferry us there.
It was driven by one of the Bride's brothers.

The trailer was decorated inside too, and there was an iPod playing music to get us in the mood.
The church had a lovely lychgate.

I loved the signs all around instructing us on what to do!

The service was emotional and the beautiful peel of bells made me think of our own wedding when our 2 year old godson was present.  Fast forward 23 years and here we were going to his!

We walked back to the field where some people made use of the blankets provided.
There was laughter and photos and we sat down to a picnic tea.  There were hampers on every table containing, cheese, ham, pate, sauces, homemade pickles and coleslaw and bread followed by scones and when it got darker, a hog roast.  The marquee looked amazing and we danced to a Ceilidh band and then later to a disco.
The cake had the bride and groom in a tent on top (they are both scouts) with lemon and chocolate layers.  I can confirm both were good, and I had some for breakfast the next morning too.
It was a perfect day ~ the bride and groom oozed happiness and I have to say one of the most relaxing weddings I have been to.

See you soon...........Clicky Needles.
